A Changing World and Legal Services
Event: Senior Partners Conference
for Berwin Leighton Poisner at The Grove
22 June 2008
Richard Scase gave a plenary presentation in which he updated his thinking on future global trends as these are being shaped by the credit crunch, climate uncertainty and the food, commodity and energy crises. He stressed to delegates that the world economy was now in a paradigm shift and that the present turbulence in global markets was neither short-term nor temporary but represented a major long-term re-structuring. Within this context, he identified what he felt to be some of the major business opportunities for professional legal practices, providing they offered attractive reward packages for young talented men and women whom he described as the I-Pod generation. These have work expectations that will compel professional service organisations to re-invent many of their age-old operating processes if they are to become leading-edge global brands in the future.
